Introduction to basic Industrial chemistry concepts, course will cover scientific, economic, innovation, and environmental aspects of the top chemical industries. Students will learn of the present and future sources of raw materials and energy, and processes of manufacturing. The concept of Green chemistry showing how environmental problems can be solved through well design chemical process will be introduced. Quality systems models and standards such as GLP, GMP, ISO 9000, ISO 14001 and ISO 17025 series will be discussed. Safety and occupational hazard control concept will be discussed. Field trip to chemical process industry will be implemented as real-life examples.
